Tarbert Academy located in the village of Tarbert (Loch Fyne), Argyll and provides nursery, primary and secondary education for pupils aged 3 to 18 years. The school’s core values are respect, achievement, responsibility and creativity. Tarbert Academy is a friendly, happy and vibrant school which enjoys the support and friendship of the communities it serves. Pupils’ achievements and attainment are recognised nationally with Tarbert Academy in the top 5 state schools in Scotland for attainment at Higher in 2013. Pupils have won awards at national level including Tarbert Academy Investment Club coming first in Scotland and third in the UK and national recognition for Engineering, Art and Photography.
The objectives of the Parent Council are:
- To promote partnership between the school, its pupils, parents/carers and community
- To develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils.
- To identify and represent the views of parents/carers on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupil
Membership of the Parent Council is open to all parents and carers. Parents and carers of former pupils and members of the local community can also be co-opted by the committee.
Parent Council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month (during term time) and are open to all
